Aunt Chelle – I think everybody knows Mrs Helen Michelle Hale. If not – O.K. I’ll tell you a little bit about her.
“She was raised in Rochester, New York and came from what she called a big family. Her parents were married for over 60 years and from them she learned family values at an early age. Lewis (her Dad) showed that hard work, perseverance and the love of God pays off. He bought the home, she is in, over forty years ago. Her mother (Helen) taught her to love and care for her family. But, one of the merits Aunt Chelle is best noted for is her home cooking. On any given day her cooking draws family and friends for a taste of one of her many recipes. She gets rave reviews when she serves her collard greens, chicken pot pie and hot water cornbread, with tomatoes and onions cut up on top of the greens for flavor. Her meals are “to die for” and unbelievably delicious. I’m getting hungry just thinking about her nutritious cuisine. She has raised three children of her own, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others from the neighborhood.
Aunt Chelle opened her daycare 19 years ago, with help from her children, when helping a few family members and friends with their infant children became an everyday occurrence. She is Licensed, Registered, and certified with New York State as a Day Care Provider. As she gives love, she is loved by many.
She gives motherly love, devotion to learning and parenting to children whose parents work during the day and sometimes during the night. Her ability to teach social etiquette, exercise with field trips, and quiet time, makes her an example of a wonderful Aunt.
I know Chell very well because I am one of her older brothers. Watching her nurture, cultivate, and develop character in these young kids is truly amazing. Some of the little ones she raised have gone to college and lead very productive lives.
If you know Aunt Chelle then you know what I am saying is the truth. She has helped many without a reward; but If you really know Aunt Chell than she truly is your reward.
